ReplyDeleteOne of the Geograph stalwarts has spotted the same photo illustrating Bailey's work at Glencoe in a blg (https://simonjohnsonofclowne.com/tag/james-hutton/ ) and wondered if it might be there?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments! The photograph of Bailey in the BGS collection has no indication of where it was taken, I wouldn't like to hazard a guess! Perhaps one day someone will recognize the particular outcrop behind Bailey.
